Port Macquarie Panthers and Tooheys invite you to vote for your chosen community group to secure funding to the value of $20,000 in our combined project, "Renovate Your Community."

Details
One Local Community Group has the opportunity to receive a $20,000 grant to put toward a community development project benefiting the Local Area.
Organisations will be required to make application subject to criteria showing how they would use the funds for the communities benefit. Organisations must be a registered operating entity. The Community Group will need to detail where the money will be spent within the local Greater Port Macquarie area.
Application period is from 15 January to 15 February 2010 - Applications are now closed.
Selection
The Committee will validate & approve the Community Groups to ensure their appropriateness for the Grant and will select six for the public to vote on. The Committee’s decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
The Committee members are from Panthers and Tooheys as well as Peter Besseling MP (Independent Member for Port Macquarie) and Andrew Roach (Port Macquarie Hastings Council General Manager).
The six selected community groups will present to the public, members and media at a cocktail event supported by Tooheys at Port Macquarie Panthers on Friday 26 February 2010. The community groups will talk about their organisations work, what it means to the community, and discuss what they would use the money for and invite questions from media/public. Successful groups will be publicised and the community invited to vote.
Voting
Voting will be open to members and non members. Members who vote have the chance to win a prize to ‘mini renovate’ to the value of $2000.
Voting will occur online via Panthers Port Macquarie website or for those without access to a computer a form will be available at the Clubs' reception to be filled in.
Voters will be required to record their name and address to ensure a valid vote. Optional will be email address, phone number and membership number.
Every person may vote one time per day over the voting period.
The voting period will be 1 – 21 March 2010.
The Community Group with the majority of valid votes will be the winner & awarded the $20,000.
Conditions
The community organisation must be operating in the Greater Port Macquarie area and be a not for profit organisation.
The six nominated applicants must be able to have a representative attend the Cocktail Night on Friday 26 February and be prepared to give a presentation of what their organisation does, and how the funding would be used if successful.
The six nominated applicants must be available for print and radio interviews.
The project must benefit and be undertaken in the local Greater Port Macquarie area.
The winner will be required to supply proof of how & where the money will be spent in order to receive payment. The successful organisation will be required to show that they have used the funds as outlined.
The successful organisation will be required to make an appropriate level of acknowledgement of the funding source for the project; and complete an evaluation form at the end of the project.
The committee's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
