Group 3 PRIDE JRL


The Group 3 PRIDE Junior Rugby League includes eleven clubs and supports more than 3,400 boys and girls from Under 5s to Under 17s. In 2025, Group 3 JRL and NSWRL Northern Region delivered a combined RISE Program, increasing participation from 92 in 2024 to 238 children. The Pathways Development Program focuses on Life Fit education, mental health screening with Griffith University, physical and skills development, and competitive development games for boys and girls, with highlights including early identification of wellbeing concerns, representative fixtures, and the Under 15 and 16 Girls Tackle Squad playing a State of Origin curtain-raiser in Newcastle.

Port Macquarie Junior OzTag


 

Port Macquarie Oztag is gearing up for its 2025/26 Summer Junior Competition, which begins Monday 13 October with Grand Finals on 9 February 2026 at West Tuffins Lane.

MiNiTaG and Under 12 play at 4.15pm, with Under 14 to Under 17 Mixed divisions at 5.00pm. Registration is $120 and includes a shirt, ten weeks of games and two weeks of finals, with Active Kids Vouchers accepted. Mixed teams must have four girls and four boys, with no more than four boys on the field. All players must register through the new Assemble system and pay the 15 dollar annual subscription.

Hastings District Cricket Umpire’s Association


The Hastings District Cricket Umpires Association is grateful for the ongoing support of Panthers. Through this partnership, Panthers has provided full field uniforms featuring the Panthers logo and signage to 16 of our members.

Panthers’ support is proudly displayed each week across multiple fixtures, including two locations on Thursday nights, two on Friday nights, four on Saturday mornings, and 13 on Saturday afternoons, ensuring strong visibility across the region’s cricket community.

Macquarie United Cricket Club


Previously known as Wilson River Cricket Club and Macquarie Hotel Cricket Club, Macquarie United CC bring fun and community spirit to local cricket. The club competes in the region’s Premier League, along with teams in the Senior HRDCA competition and our inaugural year in the Junior HRDJCA competition.

Widespread success across Senior grades has positioned MACU as one of the leading cricket clubs in the area. Anyone interested in getting involved in local cricket can find our members training at Wayne Richard Park cricket nets on Tuesday at 5:30pm. All abilities welcomed.

Port Macquarie Touch Association


Known as the Port Macquarie Makos, Port Macquarie Touch is a proud affiliate of NSW Touch Association and Touch Football Australia. The Club hosts one of the nation’s largest tournaments, the NSW State Cup, bringing around 5,000 players, officials and supporters to the region each December.

With a strong local player base and a history of state and national representatives, the Makos offer year-round competitions for all ages and skill levels. Games are played at Tuffins Lane and Stuart Park, with junior and senior divisions across summer and winter.

The Club works closely with Port Macquarie Hastings Council to maintain top-tier facilities and proudly remains the home of the NSW State Cup.

Port Macquarie Sharks


Founded in 1931 as the Port Macquarie Magpies, the club became the Sharks in 1973 to align with the Cronulla Sharks. Since then, they’ve claimed 13 First Grade premierships, eight in Group 3 (1976, 1990, 1991, 1992, 2015, 2018, 2024) and five in Group 2 (1998, 2000, 2001, 2006, 2010). Plus two Clayton’s Cups (2001, 2015), awarded to the best team in country NSW.

Currently, the Sharks are the reigning First Grade minor and major premiers of Group 3 and hold the title of Club Champions. Based at Port Macquarie Regional Stadium, the Sharks will field five grades in 2025:

League Tag, Open Women’s Tackle, Under 18s, Reserve Grade, and First Grade

Port Macquarie Junior Sharks


Founded in the early 1960s, the Port Macquarie Junior Sharks have been a key part of the local rugby league community for generations. With a strong focus on development, the club is dedicated to nurturing young talent while instilling important values such as teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship.

The Junior Sharks provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where players of all abilities are encouraged to grow, learn, and enjoy the game. Through dedicated coaching and a strong club culture, the Junior Sharks help shape confident, resilient, and well-rounded young people both on and off the field.

Panthers Social Golf Club


The Port Macquarie Social Golf Club has been bringing local golf lovers together since 1971 and is now proudly in its 54th year. With a member base of approximately 130 and average fields of 40–60 players each Sunday morning, the club offers regular social games in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Open to players of all skill levels, it focuses on community, connection, and the simple enjoyment of the game.

The club runs a full 52-week schedule packed with events, including a Monthly Medal and occasional away trips throughout the year. Competitions such as 2 Ball Best Ball (2BBB) are a regular feature, with prizes generously provided by local businesses. The standard cost to play is $45 (golf carts additional).

Hastings Valley Netball Association


Founded in 1977, Hastings Valley Netball Association has been supporting netballers across Port Macquarie, Wauchope, and Camden Haven for nearly 50 years. In 2025, the Association will feature six clubs and more than 1,500 members, aged from 5 to 65 years.

Competitions are held on Monday and Wednesday nights for ladies and mixed teams, and on Saturdays for Juniors, Cadets, and Seniors. Hastings Valley fields seven representative teams each year, from 12 Years through to Opens and Masters, with many State Titles to their name, including recent Division 2 championships for both the 14s and 17s in 2024.

Port Macquarie Panthers Snooker Club


The Port Macquarie Panthers Snooker Club holds regular social competitions on Wednesday and Friday nights, with a 6:30pm start, open to all members and guests. A bi-monthly comp is also held on the last Saturday of every second month, exclusively for Snooker Club members.

Each July, the Club hosts an annual tournament that attracts players from across NSW, alongside a series of interclub competitions throughout the year with visiting teams from Belmont, Gosford, Nambucca, Cessnock and Banora Point.

Mid North Coast Cricket Council:

Next Gen Under-19s Competition


The Next Gen Under-19s Competition, is the premier T20 competition for junior cricketers in the Hastings and surrounding areas. Played under lights on the region’s best grounds, this draft-style competition provides an exciting platform for players to showcase their skills.

The competition runs in Term 4 each year, and with a focus on community and development, it’s quickly becoming a key fixture in local cricket. Expressions of Interest for the 2025 competition will open in the coming months.

Port Macquarie Game Fishing Club


Established in 1971, the Port Macquarie Game Fishing Club is home to over 100 members and a proud tradition of competitive angling. Based at the Port Macquarie Marina Complex, the Club runs regular game fishing competitions throughout the year.

Its premier event, the Golden Lure Game Fishing Competition, has been held each January for over 30 years and draws more than 150 competitors from across Australia. The event also features a Ladies and Juniors Charity Day and a dedicated onshore angling event for junior anglers, with funds raised supporting a range of local charities.

Port Panthers Netball Club


Port Panthers Netball Club is a passionate and inclusive sporting community that welcomes players of all ages and experience levels. With teams spanning from juniors right through to competitive open women’s grades, the club provides a supportive environment where players can build skills, confidence, and lifelong friendships through the game of netball.

Affiliated with Netball Australia, Port Panthers compete in the Hastings Valley Netball Association’s Saturday Competition as well as the Monday Night Social Competition during the winter season. From the youngest teams like the PP Honeybees and Bandicoots, to cadets such as the PP Falcons and Pink Panthers, and senior teams like the PP Tigers and Emus, there’s a place for everyone to get involved, grow, and thrive.

The Port Macquarie Magpies AFL Club is a proud, community-driven football club competing in the AFL North Coast competition. Based in Port Macquarie, the club has a strong history within the region, and continues to play an important role in bringing together players, families, volunteers, and supporters through Australian Rules Football.

The Magpies field teams across both men’s and women’s programs and are committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive environment for participants of all ages and abilities.
